Design Philosophy
We design sites to load quickly. Sometimes, a "splash page" (an opening page) may be suggested to speed initial load time. Graphics and pictures are optimized for fast load time.

We design sites to conform as closely as possible to the principles of "Web Usability" as taught by Jakob Nielsen.  This means that we design for maximum usability by the target user, utilizing industry-standard design principles, and clear navigation for example.

In other words, we do all we can to reduce the "cognitive overhead" of the typical user, thereby rendering a more useful web experience. (Cognitive overhead is defined as to how much thinking people need to do, in order to successfully engage the web interface in front of them.)

Based on current studies, our sites are optimized from 800x600 screen size  to 1024x768.  As of Janaury, 2006 we no longer assume a non-broadband connection. Browser-specific fine-tuning, and alternate pages optimized at differing resolutions are also available.

Key Question:  What problem are you trying to solve?

We prefer not to use Flash graphics - they can look good, but are useless for web ranking, as spiders and robots cannot read Flash content.  However, we will supply them upon request, at extra cost.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Google is the 900lb gorilla in the world of search engines.  Yahoo and AOL search use the Google indexes, as well as thousands of sites using the Google API.

The web is growing so fast, and Google is so busy expanding its index, that it takes about 4 weeks for their "spiders" (an automated program, sometimes called a robot) to find your content.  Within 8 weeks, you should be able to find your site on Google.

Our services include 2nd level search engine optimization.  Bear these facts in mind:  SEO techniques change on a continuous basis.  How Google indexes sites is a closely guarded secret. It's like an arms race - what worked before may not now.  It may be a technique that, if currently used, would get a site de-listed.

Not good.

Serious on-going SEO can easily run $500/month.  We leave this form of heavy lifting to an e-commerce web wizard we know in Louisiana.
